Draw an Easter picture and win an Easter egg thanks to Morrisons Dumfries and the Dumfries and Galloway Standard

We are looking for some egg-cellent piece of Easter artwork from children and young people in Dumfriesshire which could earn them a chocolate prize.

The Standard has teamed up with Morrisons’ community champion in Dumfries, Myra Smith, to invite kids stuck at home for Easter because of Covid-19 restrictions to design a colourful picture highlighting all the things associated with this time of the year.

Then, we need parents to send us pictures of their children with the artwork, along with their name, age and which town/village they live in.

We will be featuring the pictures in the Standard and the lucky winners in four categories will receive a large Easter egg each, courtesy of Morrisons.

The four categories are: nursery children; primary one to primary three; primary four to primary seven; and secondary pupils.

Entries can be submitted until noon on Easter Sunday, April 12, and winners will be notified. Usual Standard competition rules apply.

Send your entries as jpegs to: dgnews@s-un.co.uk, or the Standard’s Facebook page.

In addition, we are keen to record how the region celebrated Easter 2020 in the depths of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Send us your pictures of you in your Easter bonnets, tucking into chocolate, baking cakes, or however you are celebrating the event again via dgnews@s-un.co.uk, or the Standard’s Facebook page.
