Remarkable footage shows gardai giving chase to a sulky in North Dublin.
The strange incident, which happened on Belcamp Avenue in Darndale, shows the car trying to cut across the horse before officers get out and give chase on foot.
A man comes off the sulky before two gardai detain him on the ground.
Another guard then chases the horse and tries to bring it to a stop while two other people are also seen running over.
The person taking the video can be heard laughing saying: "Into the West eat your heart out".
Another person can be heard shouting "that's terrible" before shouting her concern for the horse as it kept running.
A garda spokesperon told Dublin Live they had no records relating to an incident at this moment in time.
