Dramatic scenes as West Brom player and manager both sent off in dramatic Everton clash

West Brom’s Kiean Gibbs and manager Slave Bilic have both been sent off in the game with Everton.

Gibbs reacted to a late shoulder barge by James Rodriguez by striking the Blues' forward in the face and was shown a straight red by referee Mike Dean.

Bilic was incensed at the decision and continued his protests at half-time, as the teams headed off, and was also sent off by Dean.

West Brom had seen their early lead turned on its head after Everton recovered from a sloppy start to seize control of the game at Goodison.

VAR overruled an offside decision given against Dominic Calver-Lewin to award his back-heeled goal on 31 minutes, to cancel out Grady Diangana’s 10th minute opener.

Everton would take the lead just before the break when Rodriguez was afforded space on the edge of the box, following good work from Richarlison, and the Colombian fired past Sam Johnstone.

Moments later, Gibbs saw the red-mist and reacted to Rodriguez’s shoulder barge by striking the Everton scorer in the face in time added on at the end of the first-half.

Minutes into the second-half West Brom scored direct from a free-kick to make the scores level again.
