Dramatic scenes as police car bursts into flames near the M60

This was the dramatic moment fire crews dealt with a blaze that engulfed a Greater Manchester Police car off the M60 motorway. Two fire engines were sent out to deal with the incident, by the exit slip road at junction 23 near Ashton-under-Lyne.

Crews were called out to the scene at around 10.30pm last night (December 4). Images from the scene show flames soaring from the bonnet of the Hyundai i30 police car.

A video, filmed shortly after, shows fire crews in attendance off Manchester Road. Firefighters were in attendance for 30 minutes.
