Dramatic footage shows moment walkers rescued from Scots mountain during blizzard

Dramatic footage has shown the moment walkers were rescued from a Scots mountain in a blizzard.

Killin Mountain Rescue Team was drafted in by cops on Saturday night to rescue three walkers lost on Beinn a' Chroin.

The rescue team faced treacherous weather as they desperately searched for the walkers on the mountain.

A video from the mission shows the white-out conditions as they were blasted with snow amid a blizzard.

The rescuers managed to locate the walkers, who were given medical assistance before being helped down to safety.

In a statement on social media, Killin Mountain Rescue Team said: "Last night the team were called out by Forth Valley Police Division to assist 3 walkers on Beinn a' Chroin in extremely difficult conditions.

"The 3 walkers were located and given medical assistance before being walked off the hill. Thank you to all our team members who regularly give up their time regardless of the conditions."

It comes as a pair of hillwalkers were also rescued from the Cairngorms after they became trapped amid tough weather conditions brought on by Storm Eunice.

The two people had been stranded since Friday but were not rescued until Saturday.

Volunteers from the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) worked together as they searched for the pair amid significant snowfall.
