Dragons half Kyle Flanagan aiming for a win off the field as home's asking price revealed

The St George Illawarra Dragons ended their National Rugby League losing streak last weekend, beating reigning premiers the Brisbane Broncos.

As they look to continue their winning ways, Dragons halfback Kyle Flanagan will line up against one of his former clubs, the Cronulla Sharks, in the local derby this weekend.

Flanagan is also still seeking a buyer for his southern Sydney property. Initially the asking price wasn't publicly revealed, but a price guide of $3.9 million was recently advertised.

The home was recently passed in at auction.

The co-selling agent, Matt Debreczeni from Ray White Sutherland Shire said there was still strong buyer interest, as it was a "great house in a great street".

Mr Debreczeni said the Flanagans were also looking to upgrade at the same time.

In 2024, Kyle and now wife Caity Airey made a key move off the field, securing their first home together.

Their $2.65 million purchase was made off-market.

They bought the Burraneer home from Caity's parents, Janelle and Craig Airey, a former director at the Cronulla Sharks.

The mid-century, modern-style home had been bought by Craig and Janelle for $1.38 million in 2008.

Set on a 662 square metre block, it has five bedrooms, water views and a pool.

According to Cotality, currently the median house price in Burraneer is $3,640,812.

Since making his debut in 2018, Kyle has also played for Sydney Roosters and Canterbury during his NRL career.

In 2024, he sold his two-bedroom Woolooware apartment for $748,500. He had bought the property for $650,000 in 2018.

Other family members have also been active in the property market.

In 2014, then Cronulla Sharks coach and Kyle's father Shane sold his long-time Bangor home for $1.075 million.

Cotality records show the four-bedroom home had been purchased in 1994 for $330,000.

The sale took place as Flanagan had spent $2.3 million on a five-bedroom house in Caringbah South.

Also, in 2017, Flanagan helped his daughter Jade buy an $840,000 two-bedroom apartment in Woolooware Bay as her first home.
