Dragons academy player tests positive for coronavirus

A Dragons academy player has tested positive for coronavirus, the Welsh Rugby Union has confirmed.

The player is asymptomatic and now following Public Health Wales' guidance on isolation.

Since the sport has returned, the Dragons' academy players have trained at different times to the senior squad, meaning they have not mingled at their Ystrad Mynach training facility.

It is understood that the player who has tested positive has not been in contact with any of the first team players or management.

Therefore, the Dragons' preparations for their game against Leinster in Dublin tomorrow night have been unaffected.

So far, the WRU have overseen 2,872 coronavirus tests and this is just the second positive result.

The other came in August, when it was revealed that Dragons centre Jamie Roberts had tested positive.
