DR Congo elections: Voting marred by delays

Presidential, parliamentary, provincial and municipal elections opened on Wednesday in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Lengthy delays forced officials to extend the voting process, and polling stations that were not able to open on Wednesday will conduct voting on Thursday.

Meanwhile in Niger, migrant smugglers are back to work following a decision by the country's new military authorities to repeal an anti-migration law.

And in Nigeria, cocoa farmers have moved into conservation areas of a protected tropical rainforest some 130 kilometres from the capital. They say cocoa trees in other parts of Niger are not producing as much.
