Dozens still missing after ferry catches fire in Indonesia

  • A ferry fire off Indonesia's Madura island has resulted in at least five deaths and 41 people still missing.
  • The vessel was travelling from Surabaya in East Java to Makassar in South Sulawesi with 271 passengers and crew members on board.
  • Of those on board, 225 have been rescued following the incident on Sunday morning.
  • The cause of the fire remains unclear, and the search and rescue operation is ongoing.
  • Multiple vessels, including a tanker and an Indonesian Navy warship, were deployed to assist with the rescue efforts.
