During the ongoing trial related to former President Trump's hush money payments, more than a dozen additional jurors have been excused from participating on Tuesday. The court began with 96 potential jurors on Monday, with about 50 being excused that day due to impartiality issues, and 9 others removed for various reasons, leaving around 35 candidates for Tuesday's proceedings.
Out of the remaining pool on Tuesday, 14 more jurors have been excused. Six of them cited impartiality concerns, while the other 8 had scheduling conflicts or other issues affecting their ability to serve.
One individual, who was not identified, was excused because of his upcoming wedding outside of New York City in June, with the trial's timeline unable to accommodate his plans. Another woman from Harlem was excused after admitting to having strong opinions or firmly held beliefs about former President Donald Trump.
Additional jurors were excused for health reasons or conflicts with their work schedules, further reducing the pool of potential jurors for the trial.
