Down GAA club Atticall GAC confirm positive Covid-19 test for member

A Down GAA club have confirmed that one of their members has tested positive for coronavirus.

Atticall GAC have suspended all club activity until at least Sunday, July 19.

They said in a statement: "A club member has tested positive for Covid 19, and is following instructions from the public Heath Agency.

"All relevant people have been contacted, the public heath agency will contact any club member if they feel there is a concern. We will keep you up to date of any information received from them.

"The GAA have advised to continue as normal, although we have decided to cancel all training until after Sunday 19th July."

It comes after clubs in Cork and Dublin reported positive tests in recent days.

Cork team Glanworth GAA suspended all further activity after being told that one of their players contracted the virus over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Dublin GAA club Man O'War also shut down all activities on Sunday after a club member tested positive for Covid-19.

Club championship matches are allowed to commence from this Friday, July 17.
