Donald Trump Orders Macca’s To The White House While Defending AI-Generated Pic Of Himself As Jesus

Donald Trump ordered a McDonald’s meal to the White House during a press conference in which he discussed an AI-generated image of himself depicted as Jesus Christ. I wish I was joking.

That fever dream of a sentence went down earlier today, when the US President fielded questions about the backlash he’d received for sharing, then deleting, an AI-generated picture of himself as a Jesus-like figure on his platform, Truth Social.

Trump claimed he originally thought the post — which depicted him in a white robe placing his hand on a bedridden patient — was “me as a doctor”.

“I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor,” Trump told reporters, adding that “only the fake news could come up with” the Jesus comparison.

“I just heard about it and I said, ‘How did they [fake news] come up with that?’ It’s supposed to be me as a doctor making people better, and I do make people better. I make people a lot better,” Trump said.

The press conference was already off to a bizarre start when a DoorDash delivery driver appeared next to Trump with a two-bag order from McDonald’s. “Look at this,” Trump said as the delivery woman approached. “This doesn’t look staged, does it?”

Dubbed DoorDash Grandma, Sharon Simmons was at the White House to plug Trump’s No Tax on Tips policy, which is aimed at boosting the income of service workers in the US by allowing them to deduct tips on their tax returns.

Trump then asked Simmons whether she voted for him in the presidential election, to which she replied “maybe”, before tipping her $140 (AUD) for the White House delivery.

A statement from the White House later revealed the McDonald’s order consisted of cheeseburgers and fries, and that it was personally delivered by Trump to White House staffers after the press conference.

It was the cherry on top of an already confounding press conference in which Trump refused to apologise to Pope Leo XIV for attacking him on Truth Social hours before sharing the AI-generated Jesus image.

In that post, Trump labelled Pope Leo “weak on crime” after he criticised the Iran war. Trump told reporters at today’s press conference that “there’s nothing to apologise for” regarding the post because the Pope “was wrong”.

“He was very much against what I’m doing with regard to Iran, and you cannot have a nuclear Iran. Pope Leo would not be happy with the end result,” Trump said.

I’d say I’m surprised by the press conference, but this is Trump we’re talking about. He could take a big McDonald’s-fuelled poop on the White House lawn and it somehow wouldn’t be the most bizarre thing he’d done that day.
