Dominik Szoboszlai '£100m' claim made as Liverpool watch on after Levi Colwill twist

Dominik Szoboszlai is edging closer to becoming a Liverpool player.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to get his business done early and there has been a couple of weeks to wait to sign their second summer signing following the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister but the 22-year-old Hungarian is poised to become the latest face through the door at Anfield.

The Reds are set to beat Newcastle United to the RB Leipzig star's signature after activating his £60m release clause. Now reports turn to breaking through the deal that will bring the midfielder to Merseyside but it also hasn't stopped other players being linked with following him to the Premier League.

Kylian Mbappe has again been speculatively linked with Liverpool while there is apparently competition in the race to sign Levi Colwill...

Dominik Szoboszlai

Dominik Szoboszlai will soon undergo a Liverpool medical ahead of completing one of the club's biggest-ever transfers.

Some reports are claiming that a £100m overall package has been agreed in fees and wages for the RB Leipzig star.

This week saw a rollercoaster of events which led to the eventual agreement between the Reds and the Bundesliga title contenders for the Hungary captain.

Last night, the ECHO reported that Liverpool had told RB Leipzig they will trigger the £60m release clause that will enable them to sign the 22-year-old. His clause was due to expire on June 30 which would've shifted the advantage to Die Roten Bullen as they could now negotiate a larger price but that avenue was blocked as they opted to pay the base fee.

In a fresh report this morning, our Liverpool correspondent Paul Gorst confirmed Szoboszlai had been given permission to undergo his Liverpool medical. Let the flight tracking begin.

Kylian Mbappe

El Nacional are reporting that Kylian Mbappe has 'several' doors open that he doesn't want to close with Liverpool among those.

It's another summer of speculation in the pipeline for the Frenchman after expressing that he doesn't wish to continue with Paris Saint-Germain beyond 2024. He was close to leaving the Ligue 1 giants last summer for Real Madrid but was persuaded to remain at the Parc des Princes.

The outlet are claiming that Mbappe 'regrets' not signing for Los Blancos. Meanwhile, they continue to suggest his agent, and mother, Fayza Lamari has held talks with 'top' clubs with Liverpool listed as an example with the future uncertain.

It was said by other outlets that the Reds were willing to pay £250m to bring him to Anfield, something that was quickly rebuffed. But it hasn't stopped the Spanish outlet suggesting Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are 'desperate' to have a star of the France international's stature.

They conclude their report saying Real Madrid have a rival at the auction but it is caveated with whether Liverpool can qualify for the Champions League this season.

Levi Colwill

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill had an outstanding season for Brighton & Hove Albion last season. As a result, it comes as no surprise that the England man has attracted interest from gathering admirers, including Liverpool.

There is a sale underway at Stamford Bridge with a number of players departing as they look to cut their bloated squad. An agreement has been reached with Manchester United for Mason Mount while Kai Havertz completed a move across London to Arsenal this week.

However, the Three Lions U21 centre-back isn't a player they want to part with. A £40m bid from Roberto De Zerbi's side has already been knocked back, according to reports.

Now, the Evening Standard are claiming that Chelsea have offered the youngster a new contract in a fresh twist. However, they also state he wants to speak to the club's new manager Mauricio Pochettino before deciding his future.

Manu Kone

Liverpool target Manu Kone suffered a knee injury during France's final under-21 European Championships group stage encounter with Switzerland which has ended his tournament.

After undergoing scans in Cluj, it was revealed he sprained his knee with trauma to the patella after tests in Romania, according to L'Equipe.

BILD are reporting that the injury is not only a blow for the Frenchman but also Borussia Monchengladbach. The midfielder is reportedly their number one sales candidate with a fee of around €30m (£25m) mooted.

As well as Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain are also said to have already expressed their interest.

Arda Guler

The 'Turkish Messi', Arda Guler, is dominating discussions after impressing for Fenerbahce and Turkey this season. Liverpool have been credited with interest in the midfielder.

It has been suggested that Barcelona icon Deco has now joined forces with the 18-year-old after penning a deal with his D20 agency. Mundo Deportivo are reporting that the Cules have agreed to pay part of his €17.5m release clause which will see him move on loan for the first year.

Guler wasn't among the Barcelona sporting director's priorities but following offensive moves from Real Madrid, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, the club acted.
