Dolphins waive WR Saeed Blacknall, sign rookie WR T.J. Rahming

The Miami Dolphins aren’t content to stand pat — even with the upcoming roster cuts looming on the horizon. Instead, the team is continuing to take opportunities to churn the roster in hopes of finding a better combination. Their latest subtraction is a recent addition to the Dolphins’ 90-man roster, making room for a fresh face at the same position.

Miami announced yesterday afternoon that they were waiving wide receiver Saeed Blacknall, a Penn State product who spent the 2018 playing under former Raiders general manager — and current Dolphins executive — Reggie McKenzie in Oakland. Blacknall managed to dress for just one game in 2018 as a rookie after going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The team’s corresponding move is to bring in another undrafted wide receiver, T.J. Rahming from Duke University. Rahming initially signed with Washington after the 2019 NFL Draft but was cut a week and a half ago. Rahming, who is listed at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, logged career highs in receptions (75), yards (811) and receiving touchdowns (8) with the Blue Devils in 2018.

In all, Rahming posted 253 receptions for 2,919 yards and 13 touchdowns during his four years with Duke. He’ll now hope to make a lasting impression before the Dolphins cut down the roster in a few weeks.
