Dolphins’ Kendrick Norton speaks on camera for first time after injury

For as challenging as things have turned out to be for Miami Dolphins lineman Kendrick Norton, it could have been so much worse. That is Norton’s perspective as he looks to recalibrate after last week’s automobile accidence that cost him his left arm and his NFL career.

Norton spoke on camera with Miami’s CBS4 local news station to talk about his situation and his perspective. His attitude is nothing short of inspiring.

“I’m as comfortable as I can be in this situation,” said Norton. His head partially shaven and his left shoulder heavily bandaged around what remains of his arm, Norton’s appearance is battered — but not broken.

With so much change cast in his life, Norton cited his support system as a pillar that has kept him grounded and provided him with perspective as he tries to process everything that awaits ahead of him — and everything he’s leaving behind.

“It is very good to have that kind of support system. It keeps me strong, keeps me sitting tall,” said Norton. Anyone wishing to help Norton can do so by answering his call to action from social media yesterday — Norton posted on Instagram and encouraged people to help with what ultimately saved his life: donating blood.

Perhaps this is the calling Norton needs as he prepares for the next chapter in his life. In addition to his call to action, Norton also stated in a separate post that he would be coordinating his own blood drives in the future when the time is right.
