Dog 'that had recently had puppies' found wandering rural Scots road as probe launched

A probe has been launched after a dog suspected of recently having puppies was found wandering on a rural Scots road.

Officers on patrol came across the golden pooch that showed signs of recently giving birth on a road close to Tealing in Angus.

She was found using the What3Words tracking system and police are now looking for information on an owner.

She is being taken care of in Arbroath (Police Scotland)

The hound is currently in the care of Police Scotland at their Arbroath station.

A statement today from Tayside Police Division reads: "While on patrol last night, officers found a dog on a rural road close to Tealing. The dog looks like she may have recently given birth to puppies.

"She was located at what 3 words Spark. Score. Riots. She is currently being looked after at Arbroath Police Station.

"If anyone recognises the dog or has any information, please contact officers in Arbroath Police Station via 101."

The post has since gone viral in the local community with over 2,000 'shares' on Facebook.

The Scottish SPCA has been contacted for comment.
