Dog rescued from River Kelvin as footage show fire crews saving pooch

Emergency services came to the rescue of a dog that ended up stuck in the River Kelvin this afternoon.

The pup ended up trapped on a small island in the Kelvingrove area of the west end at around 12.30pm today (July 15). Footage shows crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service going out onto the water in a bid to help the dog.

Facebook page Glasgow West End shared the videos, which showed five emergency vehicles and three boats all hurrying to the scene. Luckily, the pooch was rescued and brought safely back to dry land.
