Dog owner issues warning after French Bulldog viciously attacked by Rottweilers

A dog owner from Bristol has issued a warning after her French Bulldog was mauled by two Rottweilers.

Magdalena Nowak was walking her seven-year-old rescue dog, named Diora, with her partner Rafal on Hallen Road in Henbury when the pair launched their attack.

According to Magdalena, the owner of the dangerous dogs - who were not on a lead - did not seem to care that they had attacked Diora, which the 26-year-old could not believe.

"I was in a state of shock when it was happening," said Magdalena, who lives in Henbury.

The attack took place on the patch off grass off Marissal Road (Google)

"We went into the park to put some glass we had just found on the floor into a bin and then these two dogs came running in my direction out of nowhere and Rafal told me to get out.

"I managed to make it to the pavement in time but Diora was trapped and I couldn't do anything as the two dogs were attacking her. They were much bigger and really aggressive.

"It took a few minutes for the owner to show up and he didn't seem to care at all when he eventually did.

"When the attack finally stopped my partner picked Diora up she was terrified and covered in blood.

"The owner then argued that his dogs aren't aggressive and that he has the right to keep them off a lead. He was aggressive and very rude. We couldn't believe it."

The couple took Diora to the emergency vets, who prescribed antibiotics and painkillers for the multiple wounds the poor dog had sustained, before advising them to look out for any infection which might arise.

They will need to return to the vets on Tuesday where they will find out the true extent of the injuries.

But Magdalena said they do not care how much they have to fork out to heal Diora, they just want others in the area to be aware.

"Luckily the injuries don't seem to be as bad as they could have been considering it was a long attack," she added.

"I just worry that it might be small children who are attacked next time, which could end up in real tragedy.

"I really don't think someone as aggressive as him should be allowed to own a dog - especially if he's not willing to keep them on a lead in a public place.

"I hope it doesn't happen again - it was incredibly traumatic and I'm still shaken up."

The incident has been reported to Avon and Somerset Police.
