Dog and two people rescued after car crashes into house in Clonsilla

A dog and two people had a lucky escape after a car crashed into a house in west Dublin.

Firefighters and paramedics from Blanchardstown and Phibsborough fire stations raced to the house in Clonsilla late last night.

The brave firefighters managed to take the dog and two people to safety once they arrived at the scene of the frightening collision.

Pictures shared by Dublin Fire Brigade of the aftermath of the crash show significant damage to both the house and the car.

But the plucky little pup didn't seem the worse for wear from its hair-raising experience.

Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: "Overnight Blanchardstown & Phibsborough firefighter/paramedics were called to a car vs house collision. 2 people & 1 doggy were taken to safety by crews.

"Dangerous buildings staff & @GardaTraffic attended the scene."

In a statement to Dublin Live, a spokeswoman for the Gardai said: "Gardaí attended a vehicle road traffic collision on the Clonsilla Road, Dublin 15.

"The incident occurred at approximately 1:00am on the 27th August 2019.

"The car crashed into a cottage causing significant damage to same."
