Dodgers organist joins the Max Muncy-Madison Bumgarner ‘ocean’ feud

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants, 9-8, on Thursday, but the real winner of the game was Dodgers organist Dieter Ruehle, who brilliantly inserted himself into the Max Muncy and Madison Bumgarner feud while trolling the Giants pitcher.

To briefly recap, earlier this month during the Giants’ 1-0 loss to the Dodgers at Oracle Park, Muncy hit a 426-foot home run off Bumgarner in the first that went so deep it landed in the water in McCovey Cove. Bumgarner was furious and yelled some choice words at Muncy as he rounded the bases.

After the game, Muncy explained what he said back in response, via the Associated Press:

“I told him: ‘If you don’t want me to watch the ball you can go in the ocean and get it[.]'”

Eventually, that ocean quote, more or less, was turned into a t-shirt that even Muncy himself was seen wearing.

And then Thursday, Ruehle, the Dodgers organist, took it to the next level with Bumgarner on the mound again. When Muncy was at the plate, Ruehle has some ocean-themed tunes ready to go.

The songs played were Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid, Otis Redding’s (Sitting On) The Dock of the Bay, Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water, DNCE’s Cake by the Ocean and Led Zeppelin’s The Ocean. That was well-played (all of the pun intended).

Ruehle also had a splash sound effect ready to go.

Here’s a look at Muncy wearing a shirt with his own quote on it:
