Newcastle United fans know their football and they’re predicting nothing but success for Nottingham Forest following the appointment of their former boss, Chris Hughton.
The 61-year-old remains hugely popular on Tyneside where he led the Magpies to the Championship title and promotion in 2010, winning 30, drawing 12 and losing just 4 of their 46 matches.
Newcastle were unbeaten at home for the entire 2009–10 season including both cup competitions, clinching promotion in record time and achieving the best win percentage of 59.4 during his tenure to top a table of legendary managers including Kevin Keegan and Bobby Robson.
No wonder the Toon Army still have a soft spot for one of football’s Mr Nice Guys, some supporters even wishing he had been brought back to St James’ Park in recent years.
Many took to social media following his return to management to wish him well at his new club Forest, and predicting he’ll lead the Reds to promotion.
