Disruption on trains in Scotland due to 'signalling faults'

COMMUTERS across Scotland are facing disruption this morning due to signalling faults.

ScotRail issued an update on Twitter telling travellers that no trains could run through Cupar due to a “complete loss of signalling”.

Meanwhile, it said that “local Dundee-Edinburgh services” have been suspended and that services from Aberdeen to Edinburgh were being diverted trough Perth where possible.

It also posted the following update: “If you’re travelling to Edinburgh this morning, you can use your train ticket on local Stagecoach buses within Fife to Inverkeithing and then change their for the train.

“Your ticket won’t be accepted between Fife and Edinburgh on the bus.”

A separate update also explained that a “signalling failure” meant trains could not run between near Dalreoch and Helensburgh.

“Helensburgh – Edinburgh services are running between Dumbarton Ctl & Edinburgh with replacement buses between Dumbarton Ctl & Helensburgh. The Balloch line is unaffected.”
