Disney+ show's latest season gets perfect Rotten Tomatoes score

A new season of a critically-acclaimed Disney+ show has received a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a young chef who returns home to Chicago following a death in the family. There, he helps to run his family's sandwich shop, The Original Beef of Chicagoland.

The critically acclaimed series also racked up numerous awards in its first season, including being honored as an AFI TV Program of the Year, as well as a WGA Award, PGA Award and Film Independent Spirit Award. Jeremy Allen White also won the comedy acting award from the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and Critics Choice Awards.

And it seems there's no slowing down for season two, which has already racked up a 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. One critic wrote: "With such a talented cast, it’s not that surprising that Season 2 lets it rip once again," while another added: "A sophomore slump is not on the menu."

Season two follows Carmy, as well as Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they work to transform their grimy sandwich joint into a next-level spot. As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future.

Of course, it turns out the only thing harder than running a restaurant is opening a new one, and the team must juggle the insane bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning.

The 10-parter also stars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson. Edwin Lee Gibson, Oliver Platt and newcomer Molly Gordon join the series.

FX’s The Bear was created by Christopher Storer, known for shows Ramy and Eighth Grade, who acts as executive producer alongside Bojack Horseman and Undone's Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, Josh Senior and Matty Matheson. Tyson Bidner serves as producer.

Produced FX Productions, season one is available to stream on Disney+. Season two will debut in the UK on Wednesday, July 19.
