Terry Pratchett's final Discworld novel, The Shepherd's Crown, is finally on shelves after his death aged 66 in March.

The much-loved fantasy writer, who had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease, left behind a vivid legacy of more than 70 books that sold over 85 million copies in his lifetime.

Best known for his ever-popular Discworld series, Pratchett's passion for the written word proved almost uncontainable. Here’s our pick of some of the most memorable lines from his novels:

Pratchett died peacefully at home surrounded by his family with his cat sleeping on his bed, a statement from his publisher confirmed at the time.

“The world has lost one of its brightest, sharpest minds,” a message on his Facebook page read. “Rest in peace Sir Terry Pratchett.”
