Dillon Danis has admitted his pal Conor McGregor has no clue that he is fighting YouTube star KSI next month.
Danis and McGregor are known to have had a close friendship, but haven't been seen together since the Irishman was in New York for an awards show over a year ago. And many fans, as well as his upcoming opponent KSI, have theorised that the pair are no longer as close as they once were at the peak of the Irishman's powers.
KSI and Danis went head-to-head over a Twitch stream last night, with the YouTube boxer insisting his MMA fighter rival is no longer pals with McGregor. And the Bellator star did let slip that he hasn't talked to his friend, a famed striker who fought Floyd Mayweather in his boxing debut, about his boxing debut.
"If you call him right now, will he pick up?" KSI asked his opponent regarding McGregor as the pair went back-and-forth on Kai Cenat's live stream. "If you're there like, 'Hey yo, it's Danis.' Is he going to be like, 'Who? Who the f*** is Danis?' You used to be his b**** boy right?"
Danis replied: "He doesn't know about the fight. He's not interested in me fighting a YouTuber... This is like little s***. He's more worried when I fight MMA and I fight real fighters." He then recalled a story of the pair's first meeting; at McGregor's Dublin training base in SBG Ireland.

The MMA fighter told of how he and KSI sat next to each other as the YouTuber waited for "ten hours" to film a short video with McGregor, which was a promotion for UFC 2 and released in November 2016. The Irishman was likely in camp for his fight with Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, where he was crowned lightweight champion; his second undisputed title in the promotion.
"Remember when you sat in the gym for ten hours in the little back corner because you weren't on time?" Danis asked, with KSI insisting that they still filmed together. "You don't remember sitting in the corner - I was sitting right next to you at the time, I was sizing you up at the time.
"You were sitting in SBG, you know what I'm talking about - he thought it was a 'Make a Wish'. We had no idea who you were, this little kid told me 'there's this guy KSI or some s*** like that, he's a video gamer'. I'm going to knock this video gamer out and you're going to be the one in the hospital."
