In an era of increased pressure on public services to do more with less, digital technology has the potential to help.
Whether it is Skyping in to meetings or using apps effectively, public leaders are looking for ways to embed digital technology in everyday practices. However, the challenge can sometimes be more about culture than technology. It can be difficult to change how public sector staff - and the general public - are used to working.
The approach needs to be about making delivering public services more collaborative and efficient, and in turn helping the sector respond quickly to change.
To find out more about how digital technology can be put to good use in public services, the Guardian Public Leaders Network is hosting an interactive event in Cardiff on Wednesday 28 September to showcase some of most successful approaches.
Directors from local and central government, housing associations and charities will gather in Cardiff for event, which takes place from 2pm - 6pm at the Depot, Construction House, 22 Dumballs Road, Cardiff CF10 5FE.
The event will include workshops and talks about a range of innovative projects and will be live-streamed on the Guardian Public Leaders site. Plus there’ll be opportunities for networking – and eating street food.
