Peter Shilton chose not to attend the premiere of Diego Maradona's film that will air on Saturday night after claiming he had "more important things to do".
The former goalkeeper was the man undone by the Argentine's famous goal at the World Cup in 1986.
England were dumped out of the competition by two of the most iconic goals in history.
The first saw Maradona con the referee with his infamous 'Hand of God' goal before broadcasting his true skill with an excellent solo goal.
But when Shilton was asked why he wouldn't attend the premiere he told the Sunday Mirror last year: “I’ve got more important things to do... like playing darts.
“I think Peter Reid was also playing darts on Monday night.”
Maradona's film will be on Channel 4 at 9pm on Saturday.
The documentary shows how the Argentine fared following his move to Napoli, a club where he is still idolised, in which "seven years of all hell broke loose”.
The trailer shows Maradona's iconic goal in the Estadio Azteca which came just four years after the end of the Falklands War.
But last year Shilton hit out at Maradona for never apologising, saying: “It’s been 32 years.
"It goes against my belief football should unite the world. I’ve never wanted to meet him since the Hand of God, because I felt he should have apologised.
“I’ve got a love for football and you have to conduct yourself well but he has gone the other way by blaming the Falklands War, he said he hates the English and that’s the side I don’t like.”
Back In 2005 Maradona revelled in his controversial exploits by saying: “I don’t for a second regret scoring that goal.”
