Did you know Vitamin D is important for your sex life? Read on

Low estrogen levels in women might come from a vitamin D deficiency and result in a lower sex drive. Men get the same effects from sun exposure. The female sex hormone, estrogen, is not only in charge of a high sex drive but also plays a role in maintaining the health of the muscles in the vaginal wall and causing discharge.

Low estrogen can result in having little desire for sex. It can cause discomfort when you do get down and dirty. Without this secretion, the vagina will be drier than normal, making sex uncomfortable.

All of these feelings of low libido can alter after spending some time in the sun, which raises a woman's sex hormone levels. Vitamin D, on the other hand, can greatly increase the amount of testosterone in men that causes more desire for sex.

Sex drive in men can be increased more after sun exposure because men's testes produce testosterone but women's relatively tiny ovaries do not. According to research, poor sex drive in men can be increased by basking in the sun for just 30 minutes over a two-week period. This can be a good sign to enjoy the time out in the sun.

According to research from the Medical University of Graz in Austria, Those who had at least 30 nanograms of vitamin D per millilitre of blood had increased testosterone levels than those who did not. Men who make sure that their bodies receive at least enough vitamin D get high testosterone levels and good libido.

Not to mention, decreased testosterone levels have also been associated with ‘man boobs’ lessened body hair, poor muscle mass, and erectile dysfunction.

Both genders, men and women can benefit from a higher sex drive with just one hour of sun exposure. When you spend 1 hour in the sun, your body undergoes the production of more melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH). This chemical process promotes the production of melanin, tans your skin and shields your skin from the effects of the sun. According to some studies, melanin and sex hormones together can enhance one another's effectiveness and work in sync to boost sex drive.
