Did you know Amitabh Bachchan had placed a condition before marrying Jaya Bachchan?

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are one of the power couples we have in Bollywood. The veteran actors will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2023.

However, did you know that Big had a condition before marrying Jaya? Yes, you heard that right! Jaya revealed on Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast that they had decided that they will marry in October because by then Jaya would have finished with her work commitments. However, Mr Bachchan told her that she doesn’t want a wife who will be 9 to 5. Big B asked Jaya to work but not every day. He also asked her to choose her projects and work with the right people.

Amitabh and Jaya took their wedding vows on June 3, 1973. The couple will celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2023. Their marriage was a low-key affair and it took place at Jaya’s Godmother’s house in Mumbai.

Jaya also went on to reveal why they chose to marry in June and not in October. According to her, they had to go on a trip after the success of ‘Zanjeer’. However, Big told her that his parents won’t allow them to go on a holiday and if they wanted to go, they must get married. As they were already planning to get married in October, they preponed it to June.

On the work front, Amitabh will next be seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Uunchai’. The film is slated to hit the theatres on November 11, 2022.

Jaya, on the other hand, will next be seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. The film will be released in February 2023.
