Nicole Kidman isn’t one to spill the tea directly, but she sure knows how to serve up a cryptic moment. In her fresh Vogue cover story, our Aussie queen casually delivered a line seasoned with just enough mystery for anyone tracking her split from Keith Urban.
“How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?” she told Vogue and yes, it hit only a week after the news of her and Urban’s separation went public.
After nearly two decades of marriage, Kidman filed for divorce last week, citing the classic “irreconcilable differences” (because “irreconcilable shoe preferences” wasn’t an option).
According to TMZ, the couple had already been living apart since early winter, with Urban moving into his own space — which naturally kicked off a fresh round of “who’s dating who” speculation.

Her Vogue cover story dropped just a day after Kidman ended her social media silence, sharing a glimpse of a Paris Fashion Week outing with her daughters.
“Thank you [Chanel] for having me and my girls️,” she captioned a series of photos on Instagram from the event.
The actress arrived at the Chanel runway show alongside her teenage daughters, the trio holding hands and posing together for photographers outside the venue.
Since news of the split broke last week, speculation has been swirling about what led to the breakdown of the high-profile marriage.
One report suggested Kidman believed Urban was “not as supportive” of her career as she had been of his, which allegedly created tension between the pair.
A source told PEOPLE magazine that the couple’s demanding schedules and differing views on how to best support one another ultimately took a toll on their relationship.
Meanwhile, an insider told Page Six that Kidman is “sad, but moving on with her life” and focused on “making sure her kids are taken care of.”
Earlier in the week, the outlet reported that it was Urban who had initiated the split.
During the early years of their relationship and while raising their daughters, Kidman had been “all about them.” But as the girls grew older, she threw herself back into her career — and “truly thrived” returning to work.
“Now that [Sunday and Faith] are older, they love seeing their mum work. They’re very supportive of her,” the source added.
