New findings have been brought to light concerning the recent death of Irish fashion designer Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra. The initial post-mortem failed to address her cause of death, prompting her family to travel to the US. Martha's mother, Elma, was then asked by detectives whether her daughter had brain cancer in the days following her passing.
New Findings on Her Death
Nolan-O'Slatarra's grief-stricken family travelled from Ireland to the US to demand a second-opinion autopsy. They engaged with a top lawyer in the US, whose client list includes Harvey Weinstein and Steve Bannon.
Meanwhile, the family's lawyer, criminal defence attorney Arthur Aidala, said they met with Suffolk County homicide detectives. They are continuing to conduct a thorough investigation with people still being questioned about the matter.
One of the key takeaways from the matter is that the autopsy report didn't show any signs of a struggle. There weren't any defensive wounds on her hands nor were there evident signs of trauma.
At the time of writing, the medical examiner is focused on her blood and other fluids being sent to toxicology. The most recent reveal was the possibility of Nolan-O'Slatarra dying from an accidental drug overdose.
However, the shocking twist here is the floating rumours of Nolan-O'Slatarra having some form of brain cancer.
The findings 'stunned' Nolan-O'Slatarra's family, but the detectives have yet to draw a conclusion. The final post-mortem report will take at least three months to finish.
This will include the toxicological, histological and other test results. Her body is still being held by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office.
Once this will be wrapped up, her body will be embalmed and repatriated to Ireland.
Recounting Her Passing
Nolan-O'Slatarra was discovered on the Ripple, a boat owned by insurance mogul Christopher Durnan. The night before her death, the two had met to presumably discuss business.
At approximately midnight, a 911 call was made reporting that she was unconscious. Unfortunately, she died even with attempts at resuscitation. As mentioned, there were no signs of violence, struggle or trauma.
However, Suffolk County police haven't ruled out the possibility of foul play. Her death is currently being investigated by Suffolk County's East End Drug Task Force.
In addition, no charges have been filed, nor were any suspects named in the case. However, netizens have been quick to point out Nolan-O'Slatarra's prior legal disputes and Durnan's wife's mysterious passing as some leads.
