Marshall Faulk says Ezekiel Elliott has right to be ‘pissed’ at Cowboys

The Ezekiel Elliott holdout and soap opera continues.

And the star running back apparently likes what a former All-Pro thinks of his case for a record-breaking contract.

Former Cleveland Browns lineman  Joe Thomas tweeted the best player at their position should receiver 15-20% more than anyone else. The former Ohio State star and current holdout apparently appreciates Thomas’ thinking and retweeted it.

Former great RB Marshall Faulk also weighed in, on “The Rich Eisen Show.”

Faulk is helping Elliott train in Mexico. “This kid has basically carried this team the past three years,” Faulk said. “I’ll be honest with you: If I’m Zeke and I was sitting down and I saw that they signed Jaylon Smith, I’m pissed. I’m just saying, I’m pissed.”

NJ.com provided some intriguing stats for Elliott, who is on an incredible pace … when he has stayed out of trouble.

Elliott could be Canton-bound. He is averaging 101.2 rushing yards per game for his career, through 40 games. Only Jim Brown, with 104.3, has finished his career with more than 100 rushing yards per game. Barry Sanders had 99.8.

By using Thomas’ math, Elliott should be offered a deal for between $51M-$54M over the long-term deal. Remember, Elliott remains playing under his rookie contract and is slated to make around $9M in 2019.

Thomas also had a strong message for Elliott if the Cowboys fail to treat him like the best RB in the game.
