Dez Bryant's visit with Browns concluded, but conversations between two sides will continue

The Dez Bryant watch is ongoing.

The free-agent wide receiver's visit with the Browns concluded late Friday morning, but conversations between the two sides will continue, a person familiar with the situation said. The visit began early Thursday afternoon, and the encounter the Browns had with Bryant and his agent, Kim Miale, went well.

As Bryant made the rounds Thursday at Browns headquarters in Berea, he briefly appeared on their in-house radio show, Cleveland Browns Daily, to flirt with the idea of joining the team.

"I'm happy to be here, you know excited, you know just trying to work out some things," Bryant said. "It's a lovely place."

When CBD host Nathan Zegura told Bryant he would look good in brown and orange and reminded him he donned an orange uniform during his college days at Oklahoma State, Bryant said, "Yeah, I did. I'd still look good in the brown. We'll see."

Zegura said on the air Friday if the Browns are going to reach a deal with Bryant, it's not expected to happen until early next week partly because other teams are interested.

Bryant, 29, made three Pro Bowls during his eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before being cut in April. From 2012-14, he compiled more than 1,200 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons. His best production since then came last season, when he caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns.

While the Browns wait on former All-Pro receiver Josh Gordon to return to them as he focuses on his health and treatment plan in Florida, they're courting the biggest-name receiver on the open market. And several members of the Browns have publicly stated the case for signing Bryant since general manager John Dorsey revealed July 25 the team had discussed pursuing him.
