The Indianapolis Colts signed left tackle Eric Fisher to a one-year deal following the 2021 NFL draft and the details of that contract have now been released.
According to Over The Cap, Fisher signed a one-year, $8.38 million deal with a max value of $9.4 million. There is a voided year in 2022, which becomes effective if he’s still on the roster 23 days prior to the start of the new league year in 2022.
Because of that voided year in 2022, the salary cap hit for this upcoming season will be less than what the contract is worth. That salary-cap hit for 2021 is at $6.49 million.
Fisher received a $4 million signing bonus, while his $2 million base salary is fully guaranteed, per Aaron Wilson.

With all of this now official, the Colts have roughly $12.2 million in effective salary-cap space, according to Over The Cap. The effective salary-cap space accounts for the top 51 contracts on the roster, which is the number that plays against the league’s salary cap rather than the full 90-man roster.
Fisher will be working his way back from an Achilles tear in January so he’s unlikely to be a full-go when the Colts open the season at home against the Seattle Seahawks.
But they are hoping the addition of Fisher will bring some security to left tackle after the retirement of Anthony Castonzo this offseason.
