Season V26, Act Two, shuffled around the game modes in VALORANT, with Knockout replacing All Random One Site and Skirmish 2v2. But due to its popularity, Riot Games has already decided to bring Skirmish 2v2 back.
On March 18, Riot announced in an X post that Skirmish 2v2 is coming back to VALORANT on March 19, just a day after Patch 12.05 launched. The release is set for the morning Pacific Time, so you can probably expect it around 11am CT.

“As we continue experimenting with limited-time modes, we know some will resonate more than others. Skirmish has proven very popular, and your continued engagement and positive feedback have reinforced our confidence in this mode,” Riot wrote.
As the name implies, Skirmish 2v2 is a duo version of the regular Skirmish, where you get matched with a random teammate (or you can bring a friend) for a series of fast-paced aim duels. This mode has been a good way to practice or warm up ahead of Competitive games.
With Patch 12.05, Riot released another mode where you can practice, Knockout. Knockout is similar to Team Deathmatch but focused more on teamplay and trading. Eliminating enemies respawns fallen teammates, and a moving wall in the middle of the map prevents players from running it down every time.
The two modes combined should give you plenty of opportunities to improve your core mechanics or to take a break from the stress of ranked.
