Dermot O'Leary reveals gift Holly Willoughby gave to him on her wedding day to husband Dan as he had special role

Dermot O'Leary has given a rare insight into Holly Willoughby's wedding to her husband Dan Baldwin. The This Morning host walked down the aisle in a star-studded ceremony back in 2007.

The loved-up couple, who met in 2004 when Holly returned to CITV to co-present Ministry of Mayhem with fellow ITV star Stephen Mulhern which was being produced by the company Dan co-founded, said 'I do' at St Michael's Church on the South Downs in West Sussex. And the reason Dermot knows all about is that the former X Factor and now This Morning presenter was an usher for the couple. Holly's bridesmaids consisted of former Celebrity Juice co-star Fearne Cotton, MTV presenter Sarah Cawood, as well as her sister and a few childhood friends and Dan's brother Dom was his best man alongside another close friend.

During the latest cooking segment on This Morning on Monday (April 4), which is being hosted all week by Dermot and co-host Alison Hammond in Holly and Phillip Schofield's absence, the presenters were joined by Clodagh McKenna.

The Irish chef was on hand with her signature brunch dish of asparagus 'mimosa', an egg-based dish with crispy pancetta due to the milder winter prompting a slightly earlier start to the asparagus season.

During her appearance, the conversation turned to bay leaves and this is when Dermot confessed he's got his own bay tree growing in his back garden thanks to Holly and Dan.

Dermot shared the details during This Morning (ITV)

He said: "At Holly and Dan's wedding they gave everyone a little bay tree, so we planted it in our back garden and now it's huge! We use it for cooking all the time - thanks Holly!"

And Clodagh and Alison appeared impressed by Holly and Dan's choice of gift which they said was "really cool" before moving on with the rest of the cooking segment.

Back in November, Holly gushed to Zoe Ball on her Radio 2 show about her other half. She said: "I have a very happy relationship with my husband. I love him, I still fancy him - which is fantastic."

Following their wedding at St Michael's church, the newly married couple and their guests moved on to the 900-year-old Amberley Castle on the South Downs in West Sussex. Speaking about their choice to OK! at the time, Holly said: "We used to go there when I was little for lunch every time there was a special occasion. I think I just knew I would get married there."

Holly and Dan chose English Rose by Paul Weller for their first dance with Holly also telling the publication at the time: "
I remember one of the first moments I realised how strongly I felt about Dan. It was quite early on in our relationship and I went on holiday with Fearne Cotton, and Dan had made me a CD of his favourite songs."

Appearing on Loose Women back in January, Holly opened up about her 'best friend' husband and recalled her 'surprise' at when she realised she was in love with him.

"It took me so by surprise and I thought, ‘Oh God, what’s just happened?’ And the relationship carried on. And I think in hindsight, I was falling in love with him. I think that’s what that intensity was, but I didn’t necessarily recognise it."

The happily married couple have three children Harry, 12, Belle, 10, and Chester, seven. But fans will be aware that Holly is incredibly private and rarely shares photos or details about her family online.
