Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy will be performing to thousands of fans when he takes over Cardiff Castle on Friday, June, 3. The 30-year-old is best known for his hits Power Over Me, Giants, and Something to Someone.

Who is Dermot Kennedy?
Dermot Kennedy is an Irish singer-songwriter who shot to fame with his 2019 single "Outnumbered". Dermot, who grew up in County Dublin, began busking aged 17 and has gone on to play the famous Coachella festival. In 2019 he released his first complete album Without Fear. He has been nominated for best international male solo artist at the Brits and is now coming to perform at Cardiff Castle.

Dermot Kennedy will be taking over Cardiff Castle on Friday, June 3. The box office will open at 3pm and the gates at 5pm with the concert expected to finish at 10.45pm.

Where can I park?
While there is no car park for Cardiff Castle there are plenty of 24-hour car parks you can use. There are a number of council-owned car parks which cater for 24-hour parking.
A few examples include Sophia Gardens Car Park, which charges 24 hours a day and costs up to £17.60 for the full day. There's also Castle Mews Car Park which charges between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday and costs up to £6.10 for five hours, and North Road Car Park, which costs £8.80 for a full day (until midnight that evening) - its charging hours are Monday to Sunday between 8am and 6pm.
Can I still buy tickets?
Tickets for Dermot's gig at the castle are still available. Ticketmaster, Gigantic, and Seetickets are still selling tickets for the gig. Prices are starting at £42.20 on Ticketmaster.
Will the concert still go ahead in bad weather?
Organisers have said the concert will go ahead whatever the weather. They have asked fans to bring and wear weather-appropriate clothes and umbrellas are banned from taking into the castle grounds and should not be used.
What are the banned items from the castle?
Organisers are asking that fans do not bring a bag to the concert and that if you do bring a bag it must be no bigger than an A4 sheet of paper. Food and drink are also banned and there will be a range of catering offering a wide variety of street food and drink at the event.
These items are banned from bringing into the castle:
Anything that could be considered a weapon
Any type of pyrotechnics such as fireworks, flares, or smoke bombs
Aerosols, airhorns, megaphones, gas canisters, psychoactive substances aka ‘legal’ highs, paper lanterns, or glass items. These will be confiscated upon entry and not returned.
Any form of professional audio or visual recording equipment
An umbrella
Dogs with the exception of assistance dogs
Any valuables
Furniture of any kind
Food and drink
