Derek McInnes gives fresh Rangers transfer update ahead of European test

(Image: PA)

Derek McInnes has provided a transfer update, with the Rangers manager hoping for "good news" in the next 48 hours.

So far this summer, the club has signed nine players, though chairman Andrew Cavenagh told attendees during Monday's shareholder meeting that he expected "three to five" more incomings before the closure of the window.

Previewing his side's Europa League qualifying second leg against Jagiellonia Bialystok, McInnes provided clarity on the club's ongoing transfer business. "We're trying to bring wingers in, it's in the hands of the recruitment team to get that over the line," he said.

"We are hoping for some good news today or tomorrow."

Additionally, McInnes said he still wants further additions to come swiftly and points to Andrew Cavenagh's comments at the club's shareholder meeting, outlining that several players will still arrive this summer.

He added that the squad still needs help in certain areas.

On whether additions to cover Tuur Rommens and Youssef Chermiti will be loans or permanent, McInnes said, "We're looking for the best person. I'm hopeful we get the players we need, and I want to make sure we do as quickly as possible."
