Derbyshire labels manufacturer completes double swoop for rival firms

A Derbyshire self-adhesive labels manufacturer has completed deals to take over two other companies.

Positive ID Labels, based in Castle Lane, Melbourne, has acquired Banbury Labels, in Oxfordshire and Dabbon Labels, which is based near Newcastle-under-Lyme, in Staffordshire.

Both companies operate in the region of £100,000 in sales per year. The acquisitions will boost Positive ID Labels’ turnover by around 10%, taking it to £2.2 million.

Banbury Labels has been operating for just under 16 years under the ownership of Garnet Thomas and Santi Perez.  The deal will allow Positive ID Labels to venture into the premium label market for the likes of spirit labels and wine labels.

The operations of both companies will be centralised to Postive ID Labels' Melbourne factory (Positive ID Labels)

Both Banbury Labels and Dabbon Labels will be absorbed into Positive ID Labels, with production centralised to Melbourne.

John Mayers, managing director at Positive ID Labels, said: “These acquisitions make a valuable addition to our company.

“Between the addition of machinery, equipment and the sales books for each company, this stands Positive ID Labels in good stead for continued growth.

“We look forward to developing a new relationship with the established customer bases of these companies and offering more services to them than was available from their previous suppliers.

“Our sales team will as usual go the extra mile to provide the best possible service and value to them all.”
