Derby law firm Flint Bishop celebrates striking gold for its approach to staff

A Derby law firm is celebrating after being awarded with a national accreditation recognising its approach to staff.

Flint Bishop, which has its city office in St Michael’s Lane, has been awarded the Investors in People ‘gold’ accreditation until 2022.

The firm, which also has an office in Ashbourne and has plans to open a Birmingham office in the coming months, received the award following a rigorous assessment process and detailed positive feedback from employees.

Since Flint Bishop’s last assessment three years ago, the firm has improved its Investors in People rating from bronze to gold.

The achievement follows a sustained period of growth and the most successful financial year to date for the business, posting record revenue and profits, while recruiting new staff.

Qamer Ghafoor, chief executive at Flint Bishop, has welcomed the accreditation from Investors in People (Flint Bishop)

In his report on Flint Bishop, Investors in People assessor John Walden noted that “people referred to ambitions and objectives that relate to expansion, continuous improvement of the services provided to clients and financial stability.”

He also noted that “the ambition, plans and performance objectives at Flint Bishop are supported through an environment of continuous learning and staff engagement” and that “staff are very much encouraged to be involved when decisions at all levels need to be made.”

Holly Dixon, HR manager at Flint Bishop, said: “It is fantastic to see our Investors in People rating grow from bronze to gold in just three years and is testament to the firm’s ongoing commitment to developing and taking care of our people.

“Success and teamwork are at the heart of what we do and so we will use the knowledge gained from the IIP assessment to continue to invest in our long-term employee engagement strategy.”

Chief executive Qamer Ghafoor said: “It is pleasing to see that values, actions and behaviours demonstrated by the management team are reflected by the staff to deliver an excellent service to our clients.

“I would like to thank all those members staff who participated in the interviews, for their open, honest and forthright input, demonstrating that the culture required to be an Investors in People gold organisation is in place.”
