Deontay Wilder slams 'laughable' Tyson Fury ahead of WWE bow

Deontay Wilder has laughed off Tyson Fury's foray into WWE.

Former world heavyweight champion Fury is scheduled to fight Braun Strowman later this month at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

Fury and Wilder fought to a draw in December last year and could finally enter a rematch in February 2020, if the American beats Luis Ortiz.

There are suggestions the rematch may be affected but Fury said: "I thought it was hilarious and I liked how the other wrestler told him he was going to be left on his back looking up at the lights just like Deontay Wilder did him.

“It’s exciting times in the heavyweight division and you can tell the WWE understand. But it was laughable that Tyson Fury described himself as the heavyweight champion of the world, they need to cut that b******t out. Tyson, you are not the heavyweight champion of the world, you are just in the top 10.

“He talks about this lineal stuff but that don’t mean nothing. I ain’t ever seen a 12-round fight with no title, no belt. You say you’re the champ but it’s an invisible belt, we can’t see nothing."

Meanwhile, Fury's promoter Frank Warren has claimed he wasn't aware the Brit was planning a fight in WWE.

"He’s supposed to be taking a rest and taking it easy, but he’s decided that he wants to do this and he’s going to do it," Warren said.

“No he didn’t. He’s done it and we’ve discussed it afterwards.

“I’d be a liar if I said I was pleased with it, I’d prefer him not to do it but he’s doing it.”
