Denzel Dumfries told why he would thrive under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag is searching for a new right-back this summer, and Denzel Dumfries is one names to have been frequently linked with a Manchester United move.

Diogo Dalot has shown his credentials in pre-season by putting in solid shifts but with Aaron Wan-Bissaka up for sale, the club is short on back-up options ahead of the new season. It has been evident this summer that Ten Hag requires his full-backs to bomb up the flank and support their wingers.

Dalot has done a good job in carrying out his offensive duties but United are still on the hunt for a new full-back. Dumfries showcased his capabilities while at former club PSV in the Eredivisie, so he is a player ex-Ajax boss Ten Hag knows a lot about.

“He’s been brought up in that mould of the Dutch football, the passing, the movement, the working hard. I think he could come in and hit the ground running. That’s the way he wants to play football so it would be a good match.“
