Denise Welch claps back after ex-husband Tim Healy takes swipe at 'daytime TV'

Denise Welch's ex-husband has apologised to her after making a dig about "daytime TV."

Tim Healy, who shares sons Matt and Louis with telly star Denise, tweeted that he found watching a bee in his garden more interesting than what TV had to offer during the daytime.

Sharing a clip of the bee, Tim joked: "This is better than daytime telly, could watch them all day."

Denise reminded Tim - who she split from in 2012 - that she's a daytime TV fixture.

She even called out her husband Lincoln Townley, who she said had liked Tim's tweet.

"Erm!!" Denise wrote, "Excuse me ex husband who wrote this and husband @LincolnTownley who liked it...I'm actually ON daytime telly!!!! Just saying."

Tim came back: "Sorry pet, I meant apart from Slack Lasses."

Slack Lasses is a Loose Women-based comedy skit that Denise takes part in for charity event Sunday for Sammy.

Denise and Tim divorced in 2012, following 23 years of marriage.

The next year, she tied the knot with PR manager Lincoln in a Portugal ceremony.

She and Lincoln have since managed to kick the booze together, Denise celebrating eight years sober in April this year.

She's always been candid and open about her experiences of alcoholism and mental health, recently tweeting that booze had "ruined [her] life for 15 years."

In April, she credited Lincoln for helping her to get to the milestone.

"If it wasn't for my husband Lincoln who got sober with me," Denise told, "I don't know where I would be.

"If any of you are in the early stages or wherever you are in your sobriety journey, I just want to say it will be the best thing you have ever done.

"And for me, it hasn't just changed my life, but it has changed the lives of all the people who love me and, indeed, my friends."
