Denise Welch calls out Coleen Nolan for missing Loose Women due to Storm Ciara

Denise Welch has called out her colleague Coleen Nolan for missing Loose Women due to Storm Ciara.

Presenter Christine Lampard said she had to take Coleen’s seat on Monday afternoon after the bad weather meant she was stranded up north.

But she explained that Denise had managed to make it in to the London studios for the ITV chat show, and she was on the same train from Wilmslow.

Christine said: "Coleen was actually meant to be sitting here in this very seat, and she got stuck up north.

"However Denise managed to make it in this morning.’

Co-star Linda Robson added: "And it was the same train."

Denise then picked up the story, telling the audience: "Coleen and I both live in Wilmslow in Cheshire and the trains were cancelled yesterday but funnily enough the 6.11 this morning was actually working and was on time, Coleen Nolan."

She added with a smile: "And as you can see the proof is in the pudding – have a lovely day off, we love you."

"We’ll call it a storm sickie, shall we?" Christine laughed, before she added "We’re onto you Coleen … you know we love you."

Coleen wasn't the only one who couldn’t make it to Loose Women. Former Manchester City player Wayne Bridge and his wife Frankie were also stranded.

"It was pretty tough yesterday to be fair,’ Christine said.

"Wayne Bridge was due to be on the show with his wife Frankie, but they’re actually stuck in Amsterdam. He wasn’t able to get back."

Storm Ciara wreaked havoc up and down the country on Sunday, with Britain waking up to devastation on Monday following widespread flooding and severe gales.

Trains, flights and motorists faced disruption and many flood warnings remain in place with weather warnings for snow, ice and wind also in force.
