Deliveroo is coming to Macclesfield - and bosses are looking for riders and drivers

Macclesfield is about to get a lot more choice when it comes to takeaway treats.

Deliveroo is set to launch its service in the market town next month.

And there's even more good news - there are jobs up for grabs.

Bosses at the food delivery service are on the look-out for drivers and riders and are appealing to car, bicycle, scooter or motorbike riders or drivers to deliver food from restaurants.

Harrison Foster, Deliveroo's UK regional director, said: "We've seen a huge demand for Deliveroo in Macclesfield and we're excited to be launching next month; we're really excited to be creating new work opportunities for local people.

"The team is looking for people with passion, drive and great customer service, who are seeking the added benefit of flexible hours amongst other perks.

Working for Deliveroo will mean that you are self-employed and can work around your own schedule.

Riders and drivers can make as much as £120 a day and all tips are your own.

To apply, you need own a scooter, motorbike or bicycle with the necessary safety equipment, a smartphone and proof of your right to work in the UK.

50 new towns and cities across the UK will soon be served by Deliveroo (Mikael Buck / Deliveroo)

Deliveroo announced in May that it will also soon introduce its online food delivery service in Wigan.

It will also be expanding into 50 other towns and cities across the UK meaning the service will become available to 6.5 million homes.

From this month, families in Banbury, Bracknell, Braintree. Folkestone, Gravesend, Hastings, Maidenhead, Margate, St Helens and Wrexham will be able to use Deliveroo, with the remaining locations coming online later in the year.
