Dele Alli has insisted the Tottenham Hotspur squad is ready to win trophies under Jose Mourinho.
The three-time Premier League winner will take charge of his first match when Spurs travel to West Ham on Saturday lunch-time.
It rounds off a busy week for the club after they sacked Mauricio Pochettino after five years at the club.
With Tottenham 14th in the Premier League table and desperately out of form, Daniel Levy opted to wield a change at the top and appointed Mourinho as Pochettino's successor within 24 hours.
Whilst building a successful team that reached its first-ever Champions League final, Pochettino's side never won a trophy under his tenure.
Mourinho, with three Premier League title under his belt as well as countless domestic and European trophies, is seen as a specialist in earning silverware.
With that in mind, Alli has insisted that Spurs are in a position where they should be winning trophies and it's something the players are hungry to achieve.
“We’ve always been working towards that [winning trophies],” Alli told talkSPORT.
“When Poch came in he built something that is ready to win trophies.
"Obviously it’s down to the chairman to make decisions whether or not he thinks that’s not going to happen with the manager, or if he wants a new manager to come in.
“But, as players, we’re hungry. We’ve always been hungry. We’ve always wanted to win, that’s where our mentality is.
“With a new manager coming in now, our hunger is still the same. We still want to achieve the same things, it’s just with a different manager.
“It’s been a strange and tough time, but we’re professional so we have to switch our focus to the weekend and we’ve still got a job to do.”
