Del Boy's props set to make a fortune as Only Fools and Horses memorabilia auctioned

This time next year we’ll be millionaires...certainly at the price this haul of Only Fools and Horses memorabilia is tipped to fetch at auction.

Iconic props from the classic sitcom are up for sale alongside items from the estate of the late John Challis, who played Boycie.

Among the memorabilia up for grabs is Del Boy’s ceramic lion cigar pot, seen on his minibar in every series, which is tipped to fetch up to £12,000.

Trigger’s inflatable dolphin from 1989’s seaside Christmas special could sell for up to £8,000.

Del Boy’s signed “brick” phone is also among dozens of lots going under the hammer at East Bristol Auctions next week.

Auctioneer Andrew Stowe said: “For die-hard fans, it doesn’t really get much better than this."

Around 100 items from the estate of Bristol-born John Challis include a vintage Washburn electric guitar originally owned by the late Rick Parfitt of Status Quo. In spin-off series The Green Green Grass, Boycie was often seen listening to the band, who were central to the plot of one episode.

Mr Stowe added: “John Challis was a son of Bristol – so we are completely honoured to offer items from his personal collection for sale in our saleroom.

“Only Fools and Status Quo are two institutions of British pop culture. To have one item that links them both together is very special indeed.”
