Debenhams has confirmed the closing date for 27 of its stores in England and Wales.
The high street retailer collapsed last year, but reopened 97 of its stores on April 12, when lockdown restrictions eased, for a final closing down sale with up to 80% off fashion and home products.
Now, Debenhams has confirmed the closing dates for 27 of its branches in England and Wales, reports the Mirror, though Liverpool’s store is not included.
Debenhams will operate online-only when stores permanently close their doors after being bought by Boohoo in January 2021. The purchase only included the Debenhams name and website, but not its physical stores.
Debenhams stores are now operating closing down sales, which include up to 80% off fashion and home and up to 70% of beauty and fragrance.
For these sales Debenhams said its stores have been made Covid-secure, with hygiene and social distancing measures in place.
A spokesperson for Debenhams said: “With such great bargains on offer, it’s no wonder our stock is selling out incredibly fast.
“Time is running out for shoppers to take advantage of the incredible discounts being offered at these 27 stores.”

Debenhams has not confirmed exact closing dates for the rest of its stores, including Liverpool’s branch, but they are expected to be shut permanently by May 15.
The stores are reopening as part of Debenhams’ final stock liquidation process and will continue to trade until stock is fully cleared.
