- The United States Coast Guard Arctic District confirmed Meadows was found unresponsive 10 minutes after the incident, and resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
- The Coast Guard is currently investigating the situation to “uncover the cause and initiate necessary corrective actions”.
- Filming for the forthcoming 22nd season of Deadliest Catch concluded shortly after Meadows's death, which Captain Rick Shelford described as the "most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady."
- Meadows is survived by his wife and three children; Discovery Channel expressed deep sadness, calling his death a "devastating loss."
