Deacon Blue join Take That's Gary Barlow for Crooner Session and fans love it

Deacon Blue fans were delighted to see Lorraine Mackintosh and Ricky Ross join forces with Take That's Gary Barlow for an outstanding Crooner session.

During the first lockdown, Gary Barlow started the Crooner Session series which seen him virtually duet with many famous faces including Lulu, Nicole Sherzinger, Anastacia, Brian May and many more.

And last week the sessions returned with Rod Stewart and now Deacon Blue's Lorraine and Ricky were in the hot seat.

In Gary's post he said he was delighted to be joined by the famous pair to sing Real Gone Kid, and said he even remembers buying the single when he was a teenager.

He wrote: "Ohhh I love a tune - especially when its a classic. I remember buying this single as a teenager. I’m so thrilled to welcome Ricky and Lorraine - AKA  Deacon Blue  - to  #TheCroonerSessions  - thank you guys for all your efforts and sharing this fabulous performance with us..."

The video was viewed over 1.2 million times.

And fans were thrilled to see Lorraine and Ricky, who are married, singing the classic hit.

One said: "Absolutely LOVE Deacon Blue! Oh the memories of that song!"

And another wrote: "Wow that was brilliant. Voices still as good as ever. Takes me back. Thank you."

While one added: "I'd forgotten how good Deacon Blue are, going to be listening to them all weekend now."

And one commented: "Voices still fantastic. Thanks so much for taking me back to better times."
